Project Runway, Season 4, For The Win!
posted February 21, 2008 - 12:32amPrunway, as I affectionately refer to it, has taken a serious dive this season. Perhaps it's that the real characters were eliminated too early, thus leaving behind the snoozasaurus rexes that for the top four. And the top five. And the top six. You get my drift.
Wednesday's reunion show proved one thing: this cast was pretty boring. Take Sweet Pea as the example: nice. Nice, sweet, cried when Jack was eliminated, but oh so boring. And then there's Victoria, the robotic stick up her ass contestant who they couldn't get rid of fast enough. Even Heidi Klum called her out for being uptight. I'm pretty sure she doesn't experience emotions. And speaking of monotone, can we talk about Jillian? Does she experience the speech phenomenon known as inflection that the rest of us go through in our daily lives? Even when she's upset it sounds like she's ordering a latte. Slowly. Oh, so slowly.
The the rest of them are basically forgetable. Kit, who fills the young-blonde-girl-who-will-never-make-it-to-the-final-3 niche, crazy spacy new age Elysa, crying Ricky (who was good for the occasional chortle), quiet but obviously talented Rami, loud overweight Chris, and that girl who was eliminated first, and that guy who was eliminate second, whatever their names were. Carmen seems like she could have been a psychotic good time, were she not cut so early. She cried over how people didn't talk about her on the show once she was gone. Hello, this is reality tv, where your flame burns ever so briefly. The total sum is a season that is boring, boring... boring.
Except for the one saving grace of this season: Christian Siriano. With a name that screams designer and the attitude to back it up, he is the only thing that made this season really worth watching. He was willing to talk about people behind (and in front of) their backs. He could be bitchy. And, because I have to go there, oh so fierce. He completely deserved to be named fan favorite and win the $10,000. And speaking of money, mine's on him to win it all. He has the eye and chutzpah to make it all the way to the top and work. it. out.
As for Rami versus Chris to round out the top three? It better be Rami busting out his drapery rut. No offense Chris; I'm sure the WWE would love to take you on staff.
