Prop 8 Defines Marriage In the Sovreign State of California

"Prop 8, that will amend the state constitution to specify only marriage between a man and a woman is valid."

The amendment simply defines the word marriage the same as the Webster dictionary. My advice to the gay community is think of your own word to define gay marriage and start with the Webster dictionary. The real issue is an out and out attack on the tax status of the United States Christian Churches because a Pastor of a House of God will not perform a marriage of two people who are of the same sex.

Here is something that will help the gay community. I am eggsovresy I live in San Diego now. I have to go Hillcrest twice a week. It would help your cause if you had the manners God gave a flea. I mean this wholeheartedly. The juggernaut that stopped traffic about as long as a small traffic accident was not peaceful it was a nuisance. It was full of gay people filled with hate stomping down the street quite like the action of a spoiled teenager stomping his feet on the way to his room before he slams the door.

Here is some advice for the gay community.

Stop impeding the traffic of little kids under the age of 18 to shove a flier or phony petition that only really is a down line builder of phone numbers for solicitation. A real petition will not ask for any one's phone numbers. The government doesn't need it. They can find you with just a city and only two letters from your name.

Another thing and this is the biggest of them all. When a family with little kids is trying go into the restaurant to eat. Do not impede their traffic and shove your self righteous fliers of "why it is my right to get married" in front of the parents face and and even try to hand it to the six year old. It makes the parents have to explain why marriage is not a right. Who wants to have to go home and read the Constitution to a six year old to show them when all they wanted to do in the first place was eat in a nice restaurant in Hillcrest.

And finally to America and the world. I live here. The press and pictures and exposure are literally blowing this minuscule populations presence out of proportion. In other words if you came here to see the demonstration...I've seen better block parties. LOL. You won't be impressed, but you might laugh at some of the outfits.

here's a link to an article about delayed marriages in Iran, eggs

and more reasons not to put marriage on some kind of idealistic/romantic/religious pedestal. You will notice that the state is pushing people to get married earlier, but many, including professional women who can support themselves, are having unprotected sex without marriage and getting illegal abortions. The state should do the right thing by recognizing that times have changed and reproductive choice should be legalized, whether or not you're married. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2008/dec/29/iran-gender/print (Premarital sex on rise as Iranians delay marriage, survey finds)

50% of marriages fail in the U.S.

One reason being that the unnatural constriction of the institution causes the participants to want to go outside the marriage and have sex, and the longer they're married the more likely that is to happen. If you don't have such constriction, you're far less likely to spend half your time fantasizing about sex with your neighbor's wife, or with a hooker, or with the Lolita down the street. It's the attraction of the verboten. Speaking of marriage, I was watching Jane Austen's "Sense and Sensibility" on PBS the other night. It was quite depressing. Here was a wealthy mother who had just lost her husband prematurely, along with her three marriageable daughters (OK, one was a bit too young for marriage, even for those days) suddenly out on the street with no home, having to take charity from a relative so they'd have a place to live, and then having to quickly enter the husband-catching business so their fortunes would return to what they were previously. Nothing much has changed in that department. Marriage is primarily a financial arrangement, especially for women. Another case in point: In Africa, where I lived two years, many girls have their clitorises chopped off to make them less sexually responsive and so (the theory goes) more likely to be faithful to the husbands assigned to them. In India, baby girls are often murdered by their poverty-stricken families because they know they won't be able to afford the dowry that has to come along with the wife. Now, don't tell me that God has anything to do with that kind of culturally-sanctioned cruelty! There's nothing sacred about marriage, eggs. It's an institution that still favors men (because if they have sex with someone else other than their wives, it's not considered such a big deal as if the women do it), and if babies are produced by their extramarital dalliances, so be it: it's the woman's responsibility to clean up their messes. Having said all that, which you will, of course, violently disagree with, glad you like my avatar. It's the late Maya, same kitty as before, just w/o her head in the shoe. I wonder what libertarians think about marriage. They don't like the government imposing laws, so it would logically follow that they wouldn't approve of marriage. We should ask jdubhub.

arrogance or just ignorance.

well veghead I will be gone again for a time so this is my last reply for a while. This means you will get the last word. SO MAKE IT A GOOD ONE. higher authorities? Without this we have chaos. Something our untaught children of today are growing accustom to in our society becuase of the arrogance of not having any respect for authority. God does have something to do with marriage. In mans arrogance, Without the one man one woman marriage, we get what you are promoting here. Calling something very special and personal, but running around freely giving it away to anyone with your nose still in the air trying to catch the sent of your right one. I have to go. Take care veg. I like the kitty on your avatar. very cute. http://www.xomba.com/explaining_genderly_challenge http://www.xomba.com/america_not_democracy_which_stands http://www.xomba.com/prop_8_defines_marriage_sovreign_state_california

if it's arrogance, it's gay AND straight arrogance

The whole marriage deal is an unnatural, completely man-made institution meant to keep members of societies tractable (i.e., obedient to higher authorities) in all their many guises (i.e., religious, political, cultural, governmental, corporate bosses). Marriage is often used as an excuse for baby-making, which is the last thing we need in these days of human overpopulation, wildlife depopulation and planetary pollution. "God" has nothing to do with marriage, except as humans have manipulated the concept. I like to think that if she even exists, she's too smart for that!

how dull

agree with veghead. Just shows that people who are different by accident really just want to be the same as everybody else - how dull. being different is not the same as being interesting. Money for your Thoughts - join now OWO-BV

I don't understand marriage, period.

It's much more fun to live in sin, and I don't understand why gays want to emulate all the disasters of straights. They've got nothing to be jealous of.

thoughtful comments

on a rough subject. I have been gone for a couple of days. Thanks for the comments. It was good reading your points. http://www.xomba.com/uninformed_the_lazy_poor_and_working_class

Great Points All Around

I am going to stick to my guns on the "Gay is a choice" concept. I agree with Pub on the matter that it is far more likely to be an influence of your surroundings than to be just some inner driven factor of genetics. Biologically gay doesn't make sense. So, genetically why on earth would there be a gene to steer people in that direction. Homosexuality is un-natural by the science of biology in that it serves no reproductive purpose. Children's personalities are shaped from birth to around ages 6-8. By that age they generally are who they are going to be. Granted, adolescence and sexuality are still to be gone through, but during the early phase (0-8) of a child's development is where all the hard wiring or right and wrong, morals, ethics, etc, absolutely need to take place. Although you are right that I can not force my beliefs on to others that do not hold them. I can and do "force/teach" my beliefs to my offspring. I set the examples and I live by them. Interference in that is no one's right, so long as I am abiding by the general laws of society. (EG I am not a serial killer teaching my children to be serial killers, etc.) As for the Nazi's they probably wouldn't have gotten so far with out the early backing of the United States, and the grand interest of so many in Eugenics. (Modern day "Planned Parenthood.") If they fire up the furnaces I am sure me and those who follow my beliefs will be the targets and the modern Nazi war cry of "TOLERANCE" and "CHANGE" will be emblazoned on the hallways to our doom. I guess I've said my bit. Thanks for reading. FreeCracker4Jack Would you like to earn money writing similar articles? CLICK ME!
