Prophetically Interpreting our Pledge of Allegiance

Talented and much loved tv comedian Red Skelton, can be seen in this youtube video, reciting and interpreting our pledge of allegiance,  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZBTyTWOZCM .  His words are both poignant and  profound, and many may also feel, prophetic.  Red Skelton explains how as a young boy his most favorite teacher took the time to recite and then inerprete each line of our pledge of allegiance, so the young children would grasp the true and deeply important meaning of all the words.   .  It is interesting to note Red Skelton's statements regarding  'the   republic',  during these line-by-line interpretations, "...republic, a state in which sovereign power is invested in representatives chosen by the people to govern.  And government is the people; and it's from the people to the government, not the government to the people."    Red Skelton then recited the pledge, and its true meaning takes hold.  In closing, he states that since he was a young boy two states had been added to our country and two words, "under God" were added to our pledge of allegiance.  His next and last words of the tv segment were,  "Wouldn't it be a pity if someone were to say that is a prayer, and that would be eliminated from schools too?"                         http://www.xomba.com/referral/777d8bfa
