Well

Understood. I just don't happen to feel, personally, that's it's a very important issue. Language and definitions are subject to change, from time to time. ↑ Grab this Headline Animator Join Xomba

You brought it up kjhack. I

You brought it up kjhack. I just thought I would give the definition of marriage from a dictionary. I didn't mean to be a rally killer here.

mar·riage -noun 1. the

mar·riage -noun 1. the social institution under which a man and woman establish their decision to live as husband and wife by legal commitments, religious ceremonies, etc. 2. the state, condition, or relationship of being married; wedlock: a happy marriage. 3. the legal or religious ceremony that formalizes the decision of a man and woman to live as husband and wife, including the accompanying social festivities: to officiate at a marriage. 4. a relationship in which two people have pledged themselves to each other in the manner of a husband and wife, without legal sanction: trial marriage; homosexual marriage. 5. any close or intimate association or union: the marriage of words and music in a hit song. 6. a formal agreement between two companies or enterprises to combine operations, resources, etc., for mutual benefit; merger. 7. a blending or matching of different elements or components: The new lipstick is a beautiful marriage of fragrance and texture. I have the dictionary gadget on my google page. So I looked up the word marriage for us.

Ok, then

It's the definition of marriage that's being threatened. No real problem, then. Merriam-Webster can just update the definition in their next edition. :) ↑ Grab this Headline Animator Join Xomba

MR.? Bronco?

Are you sure they are calling you MR?... bronco? Hey Kjhack, the institution of marriage is not threatened. It is the definition of the institution of marriage that is being threatened. Want to read more? In November California will define the definition of marriage

Where I come from

Medical Insurance is actually considered a right and the duty of the government to protect the health of it's citizens by the best means possible. It has to do with human rights, you should have the right to receive medical aid independent of your socioeconomic status without the risk of getting into debt way over your head. to me gay marriage is simply about formalities compared to that, gay people already have the freedom of association like anyone else, although it's not officially called marriage

Idlewild... California had

Idlewild... California had already adopted laws that gave homosexual couples all of the same rights as heterosexual couples. The only difference was that it was called a civil union instead of marriage. They felt that by not calling it "marriage," that somehow homosexuals were reduced to second-class citizens. This latest case had nothing to do with "equal rights" - it was about what the union was called and how the ceremony took place. I tried to explain this point on mrbronco's Xombyte about this, but wHATUP decided to flag the page thereby erasing the entire discussion. *If you're interested in reading my articles, Click Here.

Points/votes

If you wrote a longer piece discussing the issue, or explaining why you thought the group was right, that might have gotten more votes. But basically you gave the link and a couple sentences saying people to visit the site. I generally don't vote for xomblurbs, because they're usually just a link and a sentence or two and don't require much effort. Sometimes I'll vote for a 'blurb if I find the link is really useful, or the text in the blurb gives a good explanation or description of is funny. Personally, I'd like to see the Top 10 Posts column include only xombytes.

Eggs Loves White

They don't call me MR Bronco for nothing :)
