Pure Science Not attracting the best students

Pure Science Not attracting the best students

It is a matter of concern that more and more high school students are giving pass to a career in pure science. Most of them are in pursuit of a career that promises a good salary. While science too can give good salary, the argument seems to be "for the amount of hard work put in for years, only a very few are rewarded".

A second reason is the conservative nature of science institutes and the networking that is required to climb the ladder. This notion ofcourse can not be obtained on their own in high school but must have be obtained by people within the field. This would imply that people already in the profession are totally disgrunted.

This problem now is not only seen in developed countries but also in developing countries. Authorities should look into the probelm.
