Putting Xomba Adsense Income in Perspective

Adsense in Perspective
If you have looked at my Xomba profile page, then you know that I make a living off of my internet presence (namely Xomba and a blog/website combination). I average around $50 - $60 day, not a huge daily income, but that does add up to around $1500 to $1800 month before taxes. I'm in college at Hawaii University, and my mom and dad love it that they don't have to support me. I'm able, thanks to Adsense and Xomba, to make my own car payment, cell phone payment (outrageous), and car insurance payment; I'm able to buy my own groceries and pay my own way; I'm able to travel to the mainland when I want to; and I'm able to do what I want to do, here in Paradise, when I want to do it. I'm grateful to my dad for getting me started, and I'm grateful to Nick and Baldwin for giving me an opportunity here on Xomba.

Are you looking to increase your Xomba Google Adsense income? A recent discussion on Xomba sparked some reflective thinking on the Google Adsense process. Thanks to Jdubhub for his insight - let's put this Adsense Income issue on Xomba into perspective.

Some of you have expressed concern because your Adsense income is only $1 or so per day. In perspective, that's $365 per year for just a little bit of writing. Taking into account that Xomba doesn't require domain and hosting fees, this $365 from Adsense income is pure profit and can buy lots of cool things: An airline ticket to Hawaii from Los Angeles, a moderate level snow blower, your next lawnmower... Not bad.

Increase the quantity of your posts while keeping quality, and you might soon find yourself making $10 per day in Adsense income - a reasonable goal for anyone on Xomba, and that equates to $3,650/year. What does $3,650 buy? Hmmm... Round trip for 4 to Hawaii plus accommodations, a semester of college, a year's worth or car payments...

Quantity and quality - you've heard that before, but I also suggest some link building and search engine optimization in your daily strategy as well. It was these steps that vaulted me out of the $10 per day income range and landed me in the $50 - $60 per day income range. No matter how good your Xomba articles are, and no matter how relevant your Adsense ads are, you will only be making a small amount of revenue without traffic. It's not easy to get huge traffic, but it is very possible with some daily action toward that goal. Some common ways to gain traffic which I use or have used include link exchanges, directory listings, online communities, and social bookmaking systems.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is not just a buzz phrase these days - it's proven to be the most successful and recommended method of gaining traffic to your website, article, blog, etc. Optimizing your articles for search engines increases your visibility and ranking, generating significant amounts of targeted and relevant traffic.

Remember that your Adsense monetization objectives can be met if you will just be patient and work your plan - quantity, quality, link building, and search engine optimization.

Here's wishing you aloha, best of luck in 2008, and your first $100 day!

being realistic

reading/talking to going2Oahu and angelskates has given me very realistic expectations about making money on xomba/adsense/writing. i respect that both of you present this opportunity as exactly what it is...an opportunity that works IF you are willing to do the work.

Xomba Workshop

Looking forward to the workshop

That's a good goal

I think people don't keep things in perspective. If you write something in 20 minutes and make 10 dollars on it then that equates to $30 an hour. I think $10 a day is attainable, but it will take most people a few months to get to that point. Sure, some people are going to make more than that, but it is important to keep a realistic view of legitimately making money on the internet. In the workshop I am going to suggest people take a break from chasing Google trends (unless you are really good at it) and begin to write about what they know.

Great advice....

This is great advice... We all need to keep in mind that writing for a living is working for a living... working being the operant term. lol It is not a get rich quick scheme.. it is a way to work at something we love... and to get paid for it... I wrote a byte about this... http://www.xomba.com/the_secret_revealed_how_to_make_money_writing_on_xomba but you said it so well.... Angel

Thats Cool ...

And to understand how to increase that income from $1 per day to $10 per day you can read this. Its not really difficult but like everything else in life that gives comfort, earning comes with hard work!
