Quick and Easy Low Fat dumpling recipe for stews.

The following is the low fat version of dumplings. So if you have leftover turkey this Christmas, how about turkey stew and dumplings. They are really good and in my opinion are as good as the high fat ones that are made with suet.

2 cups of plain flour, all purpose + 5 tsp baking powder (omit baking powder if you have self-raising flour)
2/3 cup of milk
1 tablespoon of butter or margarine
salt
pepper
Optional - some herbs, such as a little parsley or thyme.

Works whether your have a pan on the stove, or a stew pot or a dutch oven.

1. Put all ingredients in food mixer and mix until it forms a single clump
2. Break into about 1 inch pieces, from into a ball and then press a little flat so they are about 1/2 inch deep.
3. Drop them into your stew
4. Put a lid on
5. Leave alone for 15 minutes.
6. Serve

Perfect winter food.
