Quotable Quotes From Uncle Mythman

"Quotable Quotes From Uncle Mythman"
Those of you who have been on this site long enough need no introduction to "Uncle Mythman", I am sure. He is omnipresent on this site and has made a definite mark by his series of comments on any and all articles. Now, those of you who have read any of his comments will also be aware of his style of spreading "wisdom" through his words on any and all topics, for he seems to know all.

I am not kidding here, seriously, I have been following Mythman's comments for a long time here, and I have to admit that this person is unique and definitely gifted with a lot of "wisdom" that needs to be appreciated. For most, his comments are mere riddles, for they are difficult to follow unless explained in plain English. But, they are words of wisdom and have a lot of depth and meaning nevertheless. I therefore, took it upon myself to compile some of his comments and put them as "Quotable Quotes" as they are "gems" that should be preserved.

If you read them carefully again, you might be able to understand the deeper meaning to life and a different philosophy altogether. So, here are the comments from various articles with their links, so that you can go back and read them in their original context.

Quotable Quotes From Mythman Comments

Xomba Green: Wish Not to Be Sheep, but to Lead with Faith Like`m

i.e. only accept the lowly place when it's where you are, but only follow blindly when you "know your Master's voice."

Yes, and Right as a Good Student Would Be Too :-))

That is, you firmly state what you have learned--which will be true to you even if it's wrong--and yet still ask if it's right.

Directions? We Don't Need No Stinkin` Directions'

But--if I had the patience to read your refreshing description of the preparation (rather than the 'what we need ... no boobies ... no boobies'-skimming)--I would probably be even more hungry!

You shouldn't 'sin' because a) it reflects badly on you and b) it comes back on you children to the latest generations.

I don't mean 'Nostalgia's bad'; its good feelings help guide us as we feel our way into the future.

Where the Pureness-&-Innocense Ends
You notice the p&i in the songs above because they all feature- and/or are for-children!

It's Not "Where You Come From" that Matters, It's
... "where you're coming from" ... or something like that. Or Not.

Our Mission? To Seek Out -Old- Life, -Old- Civilization; To ...

... boldly go where everybody always was before (but forgot in the course of being stuffed with stuff and stuffing's stuffiness).

i.e. We seek to remind 'them' (the sheeple, the Children of Gawd, the readers) of whence they come, which is whither they are bound (unless there was some mistranslation, and the true word says, 'I am the Alpha ~which is sorta like- but far far away from-~the Omega.' lol)

The Problem with Leadership

Leadership tempts people into the habit of not-following, leading to the refusal to follow!

No Karma to Be Found

When you go and click, you're not giving anything to anyone and you're not getting anything.

'Giving to charity without knowing where the gift is going' is like 'praying without knowing what to pray for'; it's good that you think of doing it, but it's not necessarily the "right" good!

Ultimate Happiness is True Friendship

Buddhist Teaching: the person and his surrounding environment are relatively indistinguishable: if the one with the stronger understanding is good, so the other is soon to be.

Man likes to be good, so he performs actions to make Nature good. And the more his actions can be repeated, the better Nature becomes!

Would the actions be repeated more-if your friend continued doing them secretly alone? or -if your friend continued to do them while convincing you to do likewise?

Something I Learned in High-School Drumline

If you're on the drumline, you have to match the lead drummer. Knowing that he's trying to be "right," you study 'right' too and stick to that; but at the show, 'right' is no longer absolutly correct ... 'with the leader' is absolutely correct, because if he's wrong and you're right then YOU are the one who gets in trouble!

Ford is a good example of Edison-ian persistence:

when his engineers were telling him that there was no way to put eight cylinders in one engine-block, he persistently told them, "Interesting, but eight-in-one is how it's gonna be!"

Great Advice, but Didja Hafta Mention the Green Garbage

I understand; the Federal Reserve has most of the American populace pinned to the mat by their short hairs, and more of the green seems to make our surrender more-and-more honorable.

Patriotism or True Democracy: Sadly, You Can'T HavE BotH

Imagine if you did have children standing up, -placing their hands over their hearts and -reciting their true pledge-of-allegiance: "I pledge allegiance/ To the nearest grown-ups/ Because they're bigger than me/ And/or have stuff I want,"

Actually, not all kids are 'the same kind of "smart"' (i.e. they don't all get what they want in the same way–some just sit there and smile real cute, some cry, etc.); so the 'pledge-time' would generally be a mumbling cacophony that would more-likely get some kids in trouble than help them focus.

Because focus is really what 'school' is all about; not about 'focusing on your plan,' but rather 'focusing on the plan the weathy hirers inherited from their parents (who inherited it from their parents, etc.)

Good Peek 'under the Hood' of Another Industry

You ~could~ say that this kind of advice is 'what the Internet is for,' so that the only unshared secrets are the ones we keep locked inside our skulls!

I Don't Think We're Questioning "Miley's" Social-Character

But--like kids with low-income parents want the things kids get easily if they have high-income parents--kids with non-famous parents want the fame that kids with famous parents get automatically.

Deep ... Reminds Us that One's World and -Self Are Linked, but—

... not necessarily 'united'---i.e. I might contribute to the cause of suffering without feeling the effect of my actions.
That's why I try to spread Awakening to those who think they're ready for it. Because "with great [readiness] comes great responsibility!"

They think that 'saving the world' means getting it out of trouble. But I believe it's more like getting it through trouble!

We Have Life Eternal If-and-Only-If We "Teach the Children Well"

Maybe we each don't get to feel the effect of our teaching (Heaven or Hell) personally, but maybe we have to; all-in-all, it's better to err on the safe side and Teach Your Children Well.

Of course, these are just some of his great "gems" that he has been spreading on this site. And there are still many many many more to come. So, I just hope that after reading this byte and giving these comments some serious thought, we will read all his future "words of wisdom" with more careful thought.

I salute you Uncle Mythman.

Hey Mythman

You do have some secret admirers.

Yes, Mia, taprial

Mythman's comments do hurt the brain, in trying to understand what he is saying most of the times. Earlier, I used to just pass over his comments, but, for the past few months I have suddenly realized that he does have some serious "punches" behind everything he says, well at least most of the times. Guess he will always remain a great "myth" On Xomba. I must say that he has chosen his user name very wisely too! thanks mia and taprial for your comments.

Mighty MythMan Meaningful Memorabilia

You are right rawnak, Myth does come up with things too deep for average humans like me to comprehend. But then, only if you do understand what he is trying to say, you realize how much sense those words actually make. Keep it up Myth. +1 to you rawnak for shedding some light on the Myth.
