Radio Shack Sales Staff Unfazed By 2,400% Price Markup

A reader of consumerist.com passed along a story of a visit to Radio Shack, revealing the 2,400% markup of the price of a mini USB cord for a digital voice recorder. After being pressured to buy the cord by Radio Shack sales staff for $24, and deciding against buying the cord, the reader went next door to the Dollar Tree store and found a suitable cable for $1! Going back to Radio Shack, the reader showed the Radio Shack employee the receipt for the $1 cord, only to get the reaction: "You mean to tell me that you came back here just to show me this?"
