Ram Navami is the celebration of birthday of the Hindu God; He is known as Maryada Purusottama and is the emblem righteousness. His life and teachings of morality the emperor Dashratha held four mighty sons, as dear as his own arms. Of the four, Lord Rama was the king's most beloved son. He was born in Ayodhya.The people of Ayodhya were peace-loving and happy. No one was ignorant or poor. Shri Ram was the seventh incarnation (Avatar) of Lord Vishnu and born in Ayodha, an ancient Indian city. Lord Rama, the most famous incarnation of God, appeared on Rama-navami (Chaitra 9). The festival commemorates the birth of Rama who is remembered for his prosperous and righteous reign.RamNavami marks the end of nine day long festival called Chaitra Navratri or Vasanta Navratri. On this auspicious day devotees observes fasting, visits temples to offer special prayers, takes religious processions and the special readings of Ramayana are also hold He is the very embodiment of dharma, of all the codes of morality that hold mankind together in love and unity. The Ramayana, the Rama story, teaches two lessons: the value of detachment and the need to become aware of the Divine in every being.
