I. Origin
a. The name Halloween came from All Hallows’ Eve, which came the ancient Druids.
b. Trick-Or-Treat is believed to have begun in England, where peasant children go house-to-house for money and/or treats.
c. Some people say Trick-Or-Treat is Irish.
II. Over the
years
a. The poor will go to the rich for foods during trick-or-treat.
b. Soon, children did it in replace of the beggars.
c. In the Pioneer days, housewives would give to the children to have to children not to get tricked. That’s how the common phrase, “Trick-Or-Treat” was adapted by children.
III. The ways of Trick-Or-Treating today
a. The current form of Trick-Or-Treating was invented in the 1930’s.
b. Kids wear costumes usually scary and often store-bought.
IV. Trick-Or-Treating Worldwide
a. In Ireland and Britain, kids go house-to-house, make performances and ask for a reward.
