Rape Victim Crystal - Was Justice Delivered?

The court threw Crystal's rape case against a 23 year old man who apparently drugged and raped Crystal when she was 15. The logic given by the court was that first, it deemed the sex to be consensual and secondly even though the Florida law states that a girl under 16 can not legally consent to sex, since Crystal was just one month away from turning 16 at the time of the incident, the court did not prosecute her case.

This is a dangerous precedence. One month is a long time, 30 days and so many hours and minutes in it. Some people live their entire lives in one month and for others one month can be ever so life changing. Heck, few minutes of uncontrolled passion of a rapist is enough to screw up a girl's life forever. Either ways what the Florida court has let out is basically that the age of consenting to sex has been lowered to fifteen years and eleven months. Very soon there will be another case which will site this judgment and plead for another few days and weeks to be lowered and very soon we will have 12 and 13 years old consenting to sex legally.

And what about the boy or was it a man? He was 23 years old when the incident took place. He was definitely of the legal age required for understanding that having sex with a fifteen year old with or without consent was rape. Nothing for him? It is so sad that that our justice delivery system makes such blunders.

Crystal on her part has posted a video on YouTube pleading for help. You can watch the video here:
