This Halloween season millions of Americans will amuse themselves at costume parties, going trick or treat or taking children trick or treating. They'll carve pumpkins, watch horror movies, tell ghost stories and visit haunted houses for pure entertainment. However, for many others who are experiencing the torment of real life paranormal activity in their lives, the celebration of Halloween will repulse them.

A woman and her three children moved into an old two-story house several years ago. It wasn't long before strange things began to happen. There was a small bedroom upstairs that always unsettled the mother as she cleaned and decorated. Because she was purchasing the property on contract, she didn't want to abandon the dwelling without giving the situation time.  She thought that perhaps the inexplicable happenings would somehow cease and all would mellow out. The exact opposite is what took place.

One day the woman decided to push past any fears and spend the night in that creepy upstairs room. Although she didn't deny the presence of a spirit, she was just determined not to be ruled by fear in her newly purchased home. She would live through a true Halloween story. It was a decision she would regret. She was abruptly awakened in the middle of the night by a strong hand that had snapped against her neck pinning her head to the pillow. The creature stood behind her growling in her ear while preventing her from turning her neck or raising up to see him or it. As she lay there unable to move her neck, she could dimly see in her mind's eye a likeness of the creature. She later described the being as short in stature, hairy and ape like in appearance. She also knew he was very intelligent and greatly angered at her insistence on remaining in that house and making use of that room.

During the ordeal, many thoughts went through her mind. In her panic she had questioned what it was that had slapped its hand on her neck. She had asked herself if it had the power to do real bodily harm. Finally, she decided to abandon the room for good if the being would release her. It was as though the creature perceived her thoughts. Could it actually hear her thoughts? She didn't know and didn't care at that point. She only wanted to be released to be able to escape. Just as suddenly as the being's hand had slapped against her neck, it was released and the woman, without hesitation, fled the room. Shortly after that incident the family moved away. They had endured a series of occurrences that lacked any natural explanation.

What was the creature that attacked the woman that night and why did he attack her? How did the being come to live there? Why are some houses haunted and others aren't? The woman was a Christian who sought the help of another Christian lady who had fearlessly come to pray in the house. This was when the woman and her daughter had literally ran out of the house terrified of a being that had walked towards them. Supernatural activity occurred no matter what was done. There are so many things that the woman and her daughter have learned since that time--things they wished they had known then. These are all things they should have been taught in church and Bible studies.

Since that time they've experienced moving into another dwelling where a spiritual presence lived. However, putting into practice the truths with which they were armed, they exercised control over the only incident with which they had to deal. What are these truths?
