The Real NeNe Leakes My Experience with a Real Housewife of Atlanta
posted October 5, 2009 - 11:02pmI was searching for tenants for my rental units back in 2003 and I got a call from a lady named Nene. She described herself as a rental agent. She had people who were looking for apartments, and I had placed ads on the net that I needed tenants. nbsp; It seemed like a perfect match.
She seemed well suited to be a real-estate agent. She was pleasant, straightforward, and a bit forceful. I happily handed over a set of keys to a townhouse I owned to allow her to do her magic. But, there was no magic.
Notes were put in the windows of my townhouse advertising an opening. The back door to the townhouse was left open. If someone called her that they were interested, she told them to go in the back door and check it out. No, she did not meet them there... it was too much trouble. If they didn't like the place, she directed them to other places she was "showing". When I realized what she was doing, after finding the doors unlocked on numerous occasions, I asked for the keys back. I had contracted her as a rental agent because I did not have time to go over and show the home until it was rented, but the "work" she did, I could have done myself.
Our relationship did end amicably, though I was a bit unhappy. It was clear that she had connections to help people find homes, so I did refer someone I knew who was looking for a home to her, and she found them a lovely home. They did have one argument with her however because he did not like the fact that they did not call her back fast enough one day. Her temper on TV is real!
So when I got a call today and the person said, "remember that person who tried to rent your townhouse that time... do you realize it is the same Nene Leakes?" Dumbfounded, the memories came flooding back. I had actually met and "worked with" one of the most infamous women in the Atlanta area.
I had to tell someone!
I do have to add that I like her personality on TV and I think she has probably found her real calling.
