Pope John Paul II was the most prolific saint-maker in the history of the Roman Catholic Church, racking up 482 saints. Pope Benedict XVI is keeping the miracle machine running and the Vatican website has a list of newly created saints and the blessed.

Many of the biographies are very sketchy about the miracles, however. Some don't mention anything at all, whereas others gush on how scientifically impossible the miracle was. Perhaps the Congregation for the Causes of Saints fears miracle-fraud and wishes to maintain its stringent criteria.
