Recipe mulling spices and spiced cider

Welcome your guests with the absolutely sensational aroma of hot beverages flavored with Mulling Spices.

Can be brewed into Tea, Cider, Punch, Juice, or Wine, and served chilled as a refreshing warm weather beverage.

Use mulling spice generously for an intense aroma and warming flavor in wine, hot cider or chocolate and other beverages. Strain before serving.

Try adding a teaspoon when poaching fresh or dried fruit, add to juice for jelly, simmer some in your hot liquid to dissolve JELL-O, add to liquid and freeze as directed for a refreshing sorbet, or add to water for a simmering potpourri.

Make your own mulling spices

Stir together equal parts of crushed cinnamon sticks, whole allspice, chopped dried citrus peel, and whole cloves. store in an airtight container.

Add 1 Tablespoon to each half gallon of cider, brewed tea, punch, juice, or wine. Steep for 45 minutes and strain.

For the most intense fragrance and flavor simmer in a crockpot on low adding more liquid as needed.

Thanks. this really is good,

Thanks. this really is good, it warms you up Inside too. The aroma makes this the best simmering potpourri. So even if you don't want to drink it, you can still simmer it, adding more water or cider as needed, just for the fragrance. Kat

Sounds yummy

My family in Vermont makes spiced cider in Fall and Winter, and just smelling it when you walk in the door makes you feel warmer. I'll have to try it...
