This was my second New Years Eve / New Years Day in a row spent in Las Vegas, NV. My first year was so much fun I had to go back for 2008, 2009. I shoot photography for a small motocross company so I kind of get a free trip down there because of all the events that go on. This year (and last actually) Robbie Maddison made history on his dirt bike.

Last year he jumped about 320 feet and this year he jumped up onto the Arc de Triomphe. Both world records were put on by Red Bull and were just awesome to see in person. You can see this years here.

It's always intense being in Vegas, New Years or not. It's just the shock of less rules then we are use to here in L.A. Then you add thousands of people on closed roads in Vegas and it's just out of control. Crowds so packed in the middle of the street that it takes 15 minutes just to walk half of a block!! You only do that once though...then you learn to stay off the strip and take the back entrances into the casinos!

I hope everyone else had an awesome time bringing in 2009!! I've always thought how you bring in the new year kind of helps set up the rest of the year. Anyone else in vegas for the new year?? I heard a lot of people complaining on the strip that they would never go again...I loved it!!
