People are a lot like socks.

Some of us are black, some white...Some of us appear brand new, and others are smelly...but most of all, we often get paired with another person who isn't necessarily our best match.

You know exactly to what I am referring. You empty your basket, and put all of your socks to the side as you begin to construct small towers of towels and various thoroughfares of washcloths and dishrags. As your final act of textile master you solemnly lay out each individual Hanes and Fruit of the Loom in hopes that there will be easy matches. After all the obvious couples are done, you are left with a few lost, desperate stragglers. In a vain attempt to tie up loose ends you haphazardly bind a golden toe to a silver-bottom and put that Nike with a Reebok because nobody can notice it from far away.

How often in your life have you gone on a date, entered into a relationship, or even stated something so strong as love to somebody you knew had never been right for you and never would be right for you? It happens all the time.

If you find yourself lost and alone, don't settle. Wait for the next load...your mate is probably stuck in the lint filter.
