Replacing a kitchen sink
posted January 8, 2008 - 1:18amReplacing a kitchen sink can be as easy as 1 2 3 or may take some time. Listed below are some pointers and instruction on how to complete this task. First you want to measure the sizeand writ down all demensions, such as width(front to back) legnth( side to side) depth. If its double bowl make sure both are the same depth. Shop at your favorite home center or supply house. Next take your new sink home remove it from the box and inspect it for damage. You are now ready to tackle that project, But first make a list of tools and supplies needed.
tools; pipe wrench, pliers, screwdrivers, caulking gun
supplies; caulk, plumbers putty, basket strainer(s)
List of possibles in the event the sink is different;
2 ptraps, coupling, trap adapters, flanged tailpieces, glue and cleaner
1 remove clamps from under sink(stainless steel sink)or cut around caulking to seperate from counter top.
2 unhook basket strainers and all water lines DONT FORGET to turn water off
3 Remove sink
4 Install new faucet and basket etrainers on new sink
5 place sink into hole and fasten with clips that were included.
6 hook up water lines and tailpieces to strainers and test for leaks
7 Step back and gaze at your wonderful new sink that you installed
