Representative Fagan of Massachusetts - Vow To Attack Rape Victims?

I just watched a video on CNN.com titled A Vow To Attack Rape Victims.

After taking a moment to recover from my shock over a man who quite obviously has never known a rape victim, or empathized with their pain, I just have to ask myself...

What in the name of all that is holy is wrong with the human race? I understand and respect the fact that every human being is entitled to a great defense. However, threatening a child who has been raped, traumatized and abused with more abuse is unfathomable to me.

I would urge the American public to stand together and tell this poor excuse for a man and a lawmaker that his stance in this issue is unacceptable. Crimes of all natures have minimum penalties. What exactly is his issue with a minimum penalty for child rape?

That was the lawmaker's point: that a lawyer defending an alleged child rapist would use such harsh tactics to question the victim in court. He was exaggerating to make a point, and I think his comments were insensitive. I don't agree with his point either... as the story says, a defense attorney who aggressively questions a child in court in that way may well turn a jury *against* his client.
