Construction of the Tower of the Americas was finished in 1968, and this building was the tallest tower in the United States for twenty eight years. As I mentioned above, the Tower of the Americas is located in San Antonio. Specifically speaking, the tower is located in downtown San Antonio near the Riverwalk.

It is definitely something you'll want to see if you're a tourist exploring the city. And even if you're not a tourist, you should try to visit the tower at least once. I did, and I don't regret it.

What You Can Do In The Tower -

As for what you can do inside the Tower of the Americas, you can try a couple of different things. First, you'll take a ride up to the top of the tower for a meal. That's right, in addition to being a tourist attraction, the Tower of the Americas is also a restaurant. There is also a lounge and a theater that you can visit, as well.

Or you can just visit the observation deck and view the city of San Antonio from all angles. As an added bonus, the Tower of the Americas rotates. This is a neat feature that you may find interesting. You'll definitely see a lot more of the city this way.

As for the restaurant itself, it's one of the more expensive restaurants you can eat at. Meals cost between twenty and thirty five dollars. The restaurant has appetizers, soups and salads, seafood, pastas, beef, a wine list, and desserts.

Some specific examples of the meals would be Filet Mignon(the most expensive item on the menu), lamb, pork chops, shrimp entrees, lobster, calamari, grilled Mahi-Mahi, and much more.

If you just want to visit the Tower of the Americas, expect to pay for parking and for gaining entrance to the tower. It's not free. Elevator Problems -

If you decide to visit the Tower of the Americas, you should be aware of the elevator issues that this tower has. Occasionally the elevators become stuck, which can be a nightmare for the individuals trapped inside.

The people in the elevator are always rescued, but it can be quite traumatic for them. The tower is so high up that it must be a terrifying experience to be stuck like that. Other than this, though, you shouldn't have any trouble. Unless you're afraid of heights, that is.
