Restless Leg Syndrome: Fact, Myth, Misunderstanding?

Restless Leg Syndrome is in many ways a mystery.  It is hard to diagnose just exactly how or why a patient has the RLS symptoms.  It is probably one of the most annoying things to suffer from and contributes to insomnia, which is one of the biggest complaints of those who have restless legs.  RLS.org is an official website that has a lot of useful and up to date information.

Even though the name may make you almost do a double take, RLS is a very real dysfunction.  The many people who suffer from the condition will tell you that it is no myth and that it is very real.

Restless Leg Symptoms include very strange feelings of tugging, iching, creepy-crawling, and other strange sensations in the legs that don't stop until you start to move your legs.  For this reason, RLS patients will move their legs or will get out of bed to start doing a task that allows them to move their legs.

The conditions increase at nighttime, usually in bed.

Doctors have linked the disorder to neurological origins, but it can still be a mystery as to why an individual starts to suffer symptoms.  It can be traced back to kidney failure sometimes.
