Review: Astral Force Rising by Corwin Nighthawk
posted January 7, 2009 - 3:36pmOne of the most exciting science fiction novels I've recently read is "Astral Force Rising" by Corwin Nighthawk. What makes this work so exciting is its controversial content. It's the story of a madman named Leo Gardasian, who finds the Tree of Knowledge and uses it's power to bring down Heaven and Earth. The heroes are witches who are prophesied to stop Gardasian, who proclaims himself "Overlord of Space and Time".
The controversial side of this work is what is revealed by the Tree of Knowledge, a 4.5 billion-year-old computer. According to the Tree, the book of Genesis is actually code for a scientific experiment known as the human race. It tells the story of Lilith, the queen Mother of all vampires who was Adam's first wife.
Leo Gardasian uses the power he gains from the Tree to enslave the Gods and Goddesses of every known religion. A few escape his control and form a Council of Dieties. The council elects The Morrigan, A Celtic Warrior Goddess, to help stop the Overlord. The Morrigan, in the guise of a manufactured human named Janet Crimson, organizes "Project Astral Force".
Astral Force is a team of magical people who utilize the power of the elements to defeat Gardasian and set things right again. According to prophecy, it will take Astral Force three lifetimes to defeat the Overlord.
Lilith herself plays a role in the Overlord's plan of universal domination, while plotting to steal the Tree of Knowledge for herself.
"Astral Force Rising" is the first in a series of seven books in the "Crimson/Overlord epic. If you like witches, vampires and tales of the occult, this series is a must-read. The author is currently working on the second book, "Angel of Mercy, Angel of Death". I, for one, am anxiously looking forward to its release by the end of this year.
"Astral Force Rising" is available at wordclay.com for $17.05 plus s&h. It is definitely worth the money!
