Review: Coraline is "An Updated Trip Down the Rabbit Hole"
posted February 7, 2009 - 11:49pmThe acclaimed new movie "Coraline" is a feast of animation, but don't confuse it with those Pixar flicks full of digital special effects. Coraline was created through old-fashioned, painstaking stop-motion animation, and this review from Bob Mondello calls it an updated version of "Alice popping down her rabbit hole, or Dorothy blown over the rainbow, or the Pevensie kids leaping through that wardrobe into Narnia."
Coraline goes through a trap door in her house to discover an alternate world that features what seems at first to be a more fun version of her own family, but she soon discovers that the grass isn't always greener on the other side of the wormhole.
