Rickey Stokes News Who Taught These Guys To Spell

Rickey Stokes News is a small independent news reporting website for Dothan Alabama. The major headlines are all about automobile accidents. These guys are serious ambulance chasers, but at least they have the good sense not to photograph victims. The site is somewhat respectful of citizens, but city officials are under constant scrutiny. It is a great small town website and gets lots of views.

The problem Rickey Stokes News has is the spelling. No one associated with this website uses spellchecker. It is really something to be ashamed of. They use “there” for everything, I don’t think they were taught about their or they’re. The word supposed never has the d on the end, they just suppose everything. Recently they added a new Catagory, not Category. My favorite recently was that a victim was treated at the scene and releast. That’s right, releast, instead of released.

It is really sad to read the comments sections on some of these stories. I would say 75% of the postings flagrantly use poor grammar, punctuation and spelling. There are times I read the comments section and wonder how did these rednecks learn how to use a computer.

One topic of discussion recently has been, as the sponsors grow, the amount of complaints against the City of Dothan or its employees has dropped significantly. I tried to turn these people on to Adsense, they have had over 2 million hits, but it is their loss. I bet all of us wish our website had 2 million hits.

So congratulations to Rickey Stokes News, even with poor spelling you too can become an internet star.
