Right-wing bloggers leave their stain on the campaign

Conservative blogging peaked out after CBS' Memogate in 2004. Since then, it's been all downhill, including some laughable attempts to create fact-free reporting where corrections precede the release of the original reporting.

Liberal blogging has been on the rise since 2004, which no doubt irritates the heck out of the right-wing. While the Konservative Keystone Kops have been falling over themselves to show who is the more inept of the bunch, liberal bloggers have changed the political landscape, including pressuring Democratic candidates to withdraw from the Fox News-hosted debates, putting AP on notice for poor reporting, helping elect a new brand of Democrat to Congress, and almost single-handedly elevating the issue of warrantless wiretapping, not to mention forcing John McCain to renounce his ties to Pastor Hagee.

With their candidate for president falling fast, including pulling out of Michigan, where McCain far outspent Obama and there is an unpopular Democratic governor and convicted Detroit mayor, not even made up fantasies and claims of left-wing conspiracies can delay the inevitable.
