Rockwell 72 PC Sonicrafter Review - When Quality and Price Collide
posted February 14, 2010 - 10:08pmIf you are in the market for an all in one tool the Rockwell Sonicrafter 72 piece device is probably the perfect match for you.
Before you go out and buy a Dremel or drop several hundred dollars on a Fein multimaster you should really check out the Rockwell.
The Rockwell is right at that sweet spot when price and quality meet. You're not going to get a cheap tool that will break down on you after some use and you're not going to go broke buying one either.
What makes the Sonicrafter so good. Check out the highlights.
Rockwell 72 PC Sonicrafter Highlights:
- Super high frequency oscillation for safer and more accurate performance
- Easily cuts wood, thin metals, carpet and flooring, cement board, vinyl siding, masonry, plastic, carpet and flooring.
- Sanding jobs are easier than ever with the extremely small downward pressure needed and delivers excellent accuracy.
- With a magnesium alloy gear housing, it is lightweight and able to handle extended use as well as survive the long term.
- A versatile workshop in one device.
The Rockwell Sonicrafter 72 piece is able to polish, sand, scrape and cut such a vast array of things that it is one of those all in one devices that every carpentry oriented person would love.
The 72 piece attachments include:
You get three cutting blades, a carbide grit blade, triangular carbide rasp, a broad spectrum scraping blade, polishing pad, thirty finger sanding sheets, finger sanding pad, triangular sanding pad, thirty triangular sanding sheets, hex key, dust extraction adapter, universal adapter, and a carrying case.
These attachements really come in handy when working around the house. In my opinion this is like a Dremel on steroids. The feedback on it is so much more precise and smooth. It puts the competition to shame.
Don't take just my opinion for it. Here's what one of the reviewers at Amazon had to say:
"When I bought the rockwell 72 pc sonicrafter I was worried that I would end up with a low end piece of junk because it's only one third the price of a Fein. After it showed up I couldn't believe how well it operated, and how secure and stable it was when holding it, even in one hand!! If you are smart you will save yourself some money and get a rockwell. Forget about the overpriced Fein."

Right now the price on Amazon is at $179 with free shipping.
Go check it out and read the reviews there. I think if you are in the market for a tool like this you can't really beat the quality and price of the Rockwell 72 PC Sonicrafter.
