Role of Philselfology in Evaluation in Education: Global Literacy Missions and NCLB-II
posted September 20, 2007 - 1:34amIt is very acceptable that maximum of knowledge, truth and reality and thus education should be imparted to the students. When we consider different subjects, all of them appear very important and significant and we fail to exclude the non-essential matter. We turn to an example of a footballer. From school days, a footballer is trained in football and he or she participates in football championship.
From college days or earlier he or she will begin to participate in international championships. Finally, he or she will become a world class player.
Now if we have trained him or her in football, baseball, basketball, volleyball and hockey unto college level it would have been impossible to make him or her world champion in any of these games. But we expect this in case of education. We teach at least 5 subjects up to graduation level then wish that student should become a world level personality in one of the subjects, of course, his or her post-graduation will produce a teacher out of him or her on the same pattern as he or she was taught.
He or she will get a job and a great philosopher, scientist, psychologist, sociologist, mathematician, and thus the genius within sems to get killed even before he or she opened the eyes of universal wisdom.
