Ronald Reagan's Legacy
posted October 26, 2007 - 7:05pmAs a president, Ronald Reagan inspired the Average Joe in the U.S. with confidence, especially after the trials of inflation. As soon as he stepped into office, hostages being held in Iran were allowed to step back onto American soil.
So, it was a shock that he was targeted for an assassination attempt in 1981 by John Hinckley, Jr. People had hardly had enough time to know Reagan as a president, but even if they didn't know him they generally appreciated his charisma.
How do you rate Reagan's presidency? Do you think that he improved the nation or sapped it of its strength?
