Russian Professor Predicts End of U.S.

So I just got done reading an article on the Wall Street Journals website. It was about a Russian professor that is predicting how the U.S. is going to fall apart. Apparently he has been predicting this for about 10 years now and it's suppose to happen in 2010. "Prof. Panarin, 50 years old, is not a fringe figure. A former KGB analyst, he is dean of the Russian Foreign Ministry's academy for future diplomats. He is invited to Kremlin receptions, lectures students, publishes books, and appears in the media as an expert on U.S.-Russia relations," Andrew Osborn writes in his WSJ.com article. Prof. Panarin states that there is a 45 - 55% chance that the U.S. will split into six pieces. The cause being mass immigration, economic decline, and moral degradation. The final event being a civil war and the collapse of the U.S. Dollar.

Now I know we are having some tough economic times but I think this is a little far fetched. I mean I could see how we might lose some standing in our world power but the U.S. splitting up completely? I can't seeing that happen in only a years time. Prof. Panarin is saying that not only will we be divided but taken over by our surrounding countries. In my opinion it's more of what he would LIKE to see happen to use instead of what really will. Are other countries just happy to see us having problems??

UPDATE: I found a picture of what Prof. Panarin predicts will happen to the U.S.

U.S. predicts end of Russian professor

... That could be the title of an article the U.S. government might write. This professor will shuffle off to his mortal coil one day, and the U.S. will still be around. He claim reminds me of Kruschev's famous comment from the 1950s (I think), "We will bury you," meaning that the Soviet system would outlast the U.S. and its capitalism.

Without Obama I think the US would end

If W had another year in office that wouldn't have helped either. I'd wager the professor didn't predict the first black president though nor the subsequent move towards egalitarianism. Perhaps it's just wishful thinking and a hangover from the cold war age.
