Sad and Lonely Christmas

It's a sad and lonely Christmas
because I have you on my mind
sitting here staring out the glass
because it's you I cannot find

It's a sad and lonely Christmas
because love wasn't made to last
like the snow that shelters the grass
soon, like love, it will be in the past

It's a sad and lonely Christmas
despite the twinkling of lights
for it is with you I wish to pass
the glory of all these sights

It's a sad and lonely Christmas
as I see all the happy people
heading to the church for mass
as snow twinkles on the steeple

And so I sit as tears silently fall
glistening with the blink of lights
And it is you that I miss most of all
on this most holy of all nights.
