posted July 2, 2009 - 10:03amBy following a few safety tips while driving you will not only be saving your own life but others life as well. Everyone is just keen to get into their cars, step on the gas and go scorching past others to show off ones engine power. And while doing so, many fail to observe some basic safety measures which often lands them in trouble. Here are a few tips that will help improve your driving experience:
1) know your blind spots:It is important to check your mirrors every five to eight seconds whiledriving. At the same time its not just enough to check the mirrors. The blind areas on most vehicles are large enough to hide other vehicles. Some drivers habitually change lanes without checking their blind areas for other vehicles. It is very important to turn your head and look before you make a lane change.
2)Helmet: people who own two wheelers should make it a point to always put on a helmet every time they ride. You should do this even if it is not required by law where you are riding. A full face helmet that will cover your entire head is highly recommended.
3)Seatbelt : always remember to clip on your seatbelt when you drive. Also ask you others who are in the ride with you to do the same.
4) Dont ever drink and drive
5) check your fuel, tires, break fluid etc before you leave your garage.
