Before receiving a driver's license in the United States you must receive driving instructions and pass a written exam and a driving test. But, some people drive as if they have not taken the tests to get their driver's license. They seem to have no respect
for safety driving guidelines.
If you are preparing for your first driver's license or need a refresher, here are some safety driving tips:
1. Do not drink and drive. Two drinks can impair you to some degree and if you are stopped by the cops you just might be on your way to jail and charged with a DUI or DWI.
2. Make sure to follow safely behind a car. The rule of thumb is to keep one car length away from the car in front of you. If that car should make a sudden stop you will have plenty of room to avoid that "dreaded accident."
3. If you sense that a car is following you at a dangerous distance, make sure to pull over. Or better yet, you could drive to the nearest police precinct. That will solve that 'pesky vehicle.' That's always a good safety driving tip.
4. Adjust all your mirrors before driving. Check your blind spots and drive safely.
5.Do not assume that other drivers are adhering to safety driving tips. Always look before going across a stop light or sign.
6. Stay clear of 16-wheelers and bad drivers and pay special attention to any safe driving tips you have learned when you are in close proximity to them.
7. Its always a good idea to be a defensive driver. Safety driving is good and remain prepared to compensate for other drivers' mistakes.
8. Safe driving consists of Taking extra care and driving at lower speeds when road conditions, weather, or visibility are not available to you.
9. Always replace your worn tires, brakes, windshield wipers, and anything else that calls for maintenance on your car that helps you to remain safe.
10. Don't challenge another driver to an 'amateur drag race on the interstate,' even if low traffic is present on the road. It may be tempting but it's not safe and you could receive a ticket.
Driving is a serious activity. Any mistake can lead to serious injury, or cost you your life. So, always think in terms of safety while driving on the roads in our cities and towns. You will have a pleasant experience and be able to enjoy your day.
