The same old resolution

The same old resolution

I want to be able to go without a resolution. I want to resolve not to resolve. I want to go on making the same mistakes and letting things hang in the air mocking me and my apathy. But... then something happens that makes me mad, or stirs my heart and I say, "I need to do something about that..." Soon I am on a crusade to save the world, usually it involves children or other vulnerable sorts. I want to take drugs off the streets, I want to give all of the homeless warm food and shelter, I want to help those who have experienced trauma, I want to help juvenile delinquents find a new way of life, I want to be a better person.

So I start each year with a resolution. I resolve to be a better person by doing somthing to help someone. This year, I resolve to be a better writer. I want this to be the year I get something published. So in the language of affirmation, "This WILL be the year I get published!"

I look forward to being a part of this community of writers. I hope to learn and be inspired by those who have had the experiences I am looking forward to. I hope that eventually I too will be a source of information and inspiration.

Welcome 2009.
