It's hilarious how much of a double standard partisan politicos have. They just can't make themselves turn things around. Republicans thought the National Enquirer was a great paper for exposing John Edwards affair. But when they report on the purported Sarah Palin affair, all of a sudden they are a rag. Yes, the Edwards opponents were hailing the Enquirer as if it was the world's most courageous publication for running the Edwards story. Now they're slamming it as if it's... well, the National Enquirer!

Still, there are a lot of people who believe something is true because it appeared in a national news media source. I don't read a newspaper, watch the TeeVee news, and stay away from the political sections of the wire services online, which means I am probably two steps closer to the truth than those who are always plugged in to the "latest" news.
