Santa Claus invaded by Russia 30 Elves killed

North Pole-- In what seemed like a deliberate attempt to destroy Christmas Russian fleets attacked the North Pole and have surrounded Santa Claus' compound. The dramatic events began to unfold yesterday within hours of a statement released by the Kremlin that Russia was going to claim much of the the North Pole.

After 6 hours of heavy small arms fire the Russian Fleet submerged their country's flag beneath the Pole signifying their claim to ownership of the land mass.

Officials representing Santa Claus' workshop released the following statement. "We are outraged and dismayed at this blatant illegal attempt to overthrow our sovereign nation. Just think of the children around the world who will not get toys this year."

During the fighting over 30 elves were killed and 26 were wounded. Russian officials have released video footage of recent POWs that include Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer and the Abominable Snowman.

No further comment has been issued by the Kremlin.

In related news the Island of Misfit Toys released this following statement. "We, the misfit toys of the world, vehemently disagree with the recent aggression by the Russian Govt., we would love to honor our alliance with Claus, but who is going to be scared of a Jack in the box named Charlie or a polka dotted elephant..."

Stay tuned to further updates...

Cunning Use of Flags

Cunning use of flags video - hilarious! +1

Russkies at it again

Putin is getting a lump of coal this year... Angel

YouTube Video of Eddie Izzard's Cunning Flag Routine

I tried to add it to my previous reference, but I could no longer edit it.

Another Movie Reference...

Just like the US in Canadian Bacon used a flimsy excuse to invade Canada. This is one of my favorite comedies just for the way it pokes fun at the subtle language differences between our two countries. In the movie, also, I like the Canadian Mounty, played by Steven Wright, who kept asking "What are you talking a-BOOT?" LOL

uh oh

Watch out for Canada.... "Canada's top diplomat ridiculed Russia's flag-planting at the North Pole on Thursday, saying the "15th century" stunt does not bolster its disputed claim to the resource-rich Arctic. "Look, this isn't the 15th century. You can't go around the world and plant flags and say, 'We're claiming this territory'," Foreign Minister Peter MacKay told broadcaster CTV." Wouldn't it be odd if this sprawled out of control and ended up on the brink of war... Stranger things have happened.

Hmmm...

Actually, what Russia is doing reminds me of what British comedian Eddie Izzard describes as conquest through the cunning use of flags. http://www.auntiemomo.com/cakeordeath/d2ktranscription.html#history (Scroll down to the "History" subsection.)

Am I the only one

Who finds Russia dropping a flag beneath the North Pole a little strange? Supposedly, they are citing UN rules....

Thank goodness! For a second there...

For a second there, based solely on the title, I was thinking that Russia's "invasion" of Santa Claus was a routine medical procedure--maybe a colonoscopy--gone horribly wrong, administered by some doctor named Vladmir.
