I've had to change the formatting a bit here, but this is today's Iron and Steel recycle spot market checks. If you take your stuff down to a recycler -- you may or may not get this amount -- but the best thing to do is call around and describe your scrap, and weight and get a name and a quote.

Call around. Check the competition. I'd hold aluminum beverage cans now, but you check them out!

Last week,one of my friends had a trailer load of car-bodies, and was parked in front of the gate entrance to a steel recycler -- waiting for the guy to open up. He also had a lot of loose sizable scrap iron and steel inside the car bodies.

Another scrap dealer, whose place of business was 1/4 mile further along the same road, stopped to see what my friend would take for his load per ton. He made an offer that was $15 a ton better than what my friend had been quoted on the phone -- and said he was open NOW!

The difference paid for my friend's fuel. That is the point though. Check around for the best price.

My friend finished business and was headed back home, and the other fellows place was still not open. That is what happens.
