Say it with Words

Say it with Words

With so many mediums of communication available to us today, cell phone text messaging, internet, instant messaging and so many other ways we don't even really need to talk one on one anymore. In fact, all this "communication" makes people hard to get a hold of anymore. Sometimes so much talking is going on that nothing really get said.

We spend so much time typing and texting that we seem to use our fingers more than our tounges, and when we do speak the words get shorter and shorter, as if it is inconvenient to add those few extra sylables.

Although I would agree that despite the wars and the terrorism that is happening worldwide (mostly political I think), we seem to be growing closer as a global community. It still seems that we are backing away from our human community, you know the one we live in, in our efforts to make progress.

Perhaps it is time to take a step back from the technology, and have a look at what is happening in our own backyards and find out who our neighbours are by talking to them, not just their usernames.

Great Opinion

Yes I totally agree. My friends and I are always saying how, when we met people in the 80's, it was at a bar or a function and it was face to face. Back then we had to have people skills. We know how to talk to people now too! Great article!

Trouble with Technology

You're right on, technology is doing so much for us that social isolation is becoming commonplace. The problem is that it is dehumanizing human beings. Great article!
