Scams, Spams, and Get Rich Quick Schemes

Scams, Spams, and Get Rich Quick Schemes

I would love to make a big income working from home, make a ton of money in my pyjamas, and over the years, I have tried, mostly unsuccessfully, many ventures. Many of which cost me a goodly amount and netted my next to nothing.
Assembling products: Cost me over 50$ for start up. My start up package consisted of one sample product, and enough material to make one item, (probably worth about eight bucks), you buy enough material from a craft store and make a bunch more then they may or may not purchase them from you - not for me.
Multi level marketing: The cookie cutter method, the products are absolutely marvelous...but I could not sell enough merchandise or sign enough people up to justify all the costs - it may work for some, but not this cookie (not enough dough).
Stuffing envelopes: Ha, send a dollar and a self addressed, stamped envelope get a poor quality flyer that asks for more money for a start up package. Oh,and by the way I would have to solicit the addresses by spamming. Not exactly what I had in mind.
900 numbers: That was a real expensive boo boo. Invested 200$ to "sign up" plus advertising and made zero percent back... another legitimate scam.

If legitimate work from home business opportunities want people without having their time wasted, they will ask for a resume with references. I did have one work from home job that cost me nothing and actually did make some money, not a lot at first but enough to survive a while. I had to work hard for it, had a phone on my hip 24 hours a day. I read Tarot cards, (I really do read them) but had to take calls all hours of the day and night to get anywhere with it.

I have since taken the "sucker" stamp off of my head and will not ever pay for work or get ripped off again. I haven't made my fortune yet but am doing well and will someday hit my gold mine. If you read this try to remember my wasted money and time, and learn from my mistake.

PT Barnum Theory

It's like PT Barnum always said, "there's a one born every minute" and he was right. These scams proliferate over the years rather than running out of steam.

Although I didn't buy into the infamous Tommy Wu with his rediculous promises. I did invest in the Carlton Sheets Real Estate Investment package. That was expensive and fruitless. It seems they run on the bigger sucker theory

They try and sucker you in with promises of easy money for doing little work, then, after you finally realize you've been had, they teach you how to find other suckers to reel in, hoping to recoup your expenses. One thing I've written about here in an article called "Avoid Stuffing Envelope Scams Like The Plague" is that common sense should tell you that it is a scam. (I got suckered too, so I'm not pointing fingers at anyone.) A company can go down to their local print shop and do a run of mailers with address labels for maybe $.25 each in bulk. Why on earth would they pay someone $2 or more to do the same thing and go through the hassle of contracting out to dozens of people when they can get it done cheaper at all at once in their own neighborhood? No, like any pyramid scam worthy of the name, the bigger sucker theory needs more and more people to make money for people who've already been scammed. DO YOU HAVE THE WRITE STUFF?

I've been ripped off too...

All those "put your money up front" schemes have left a bitter taste in my mouth as well. I put up the money to buy into a MLM scheme and didn't even get half of my money back. I tried the home assembly work and like happened to you, I never made a dime. The only thing that has worked for me is writing on the internet. I have been making money from it for over four years now and don't do too bad at it. I haven't been able to quit my job or anything but at least I get something in return for my efforts.
