SCMP Issues & Implications: August 7, 2009
posted August 10, 2009 - 8:12am"Work set to begin on 'last defense' for swine flu"
There were 226 new swine flu cases on Thursday bringing Hong Kong's total tally of swine flu cases to 4974 with 57 hospitalizations and 4 serious cases; a 30-year-old man is in serious condition.
"Pharmacists warn of swine flu dangers"< p>
According to Society of Hospital Pharmacists' vice-president William Chui, "It is very dangerous as Tamiflu is not suitable for self-medication".
Implications/Analysis/Comments/Remarks: All drugs affect how the body works/operates and should be taken only iwth doctors' advice, but drugs are routinely abused nonetheless.
According to Hong Kong Medical Association president Tse Hung-hing, "Whoever made those comments are judging us wrongly. It is legitimate to prescribe Tamiflu whenever a patient has flu symptoms like a fever, sore throat and cough".
"Anson Chan to unify allies on political reform"
According to a politician "working closely with" Anson Chan, "Mrs. Chan believes that there must be a clear government proposal for the 2017 chief executive and 2020 Legco elections. Otherwise there will be no room for discussion on the 2012 elections. But Mrs. Chan hopes to re-focus pan-democrats to discussing 2012 if the government would listen to their demands".
Implications/Analysis/Comments/Remarks: The only problem is that the mainland freaks (Donald Tsang & Stephen Lam) never listen to public opinions and this characteristic makes them disgraceful public officials. They only listen to CHINA.
According to Citizens' Commission on Constitutional Development and the Hong Kong Transition Steering Committee member George Cautherly, "We want people to speak from their hearts", but with Donald Tsang going to CHINA like a crybaby every few months or any/every time he is challenged, this may not be possible.
