SCMP Issues & Implications: July 2, 2009 (Strong Condemnation Of Donald Tsang's Latest Remarks)
posted July 4, 2009 - 6:03pm"Division on show in rival marches; Donald Tsang launches pro-Beijing parade THEN FACES THE BIGGEST PROTEST SINCE HE TOOK OVER"
Implications/Analysis/Comments/Remarks: The key word in the title is obviously "division" instead of united. So Donald Tsang is leading a march in support of China. Most people shouldn't be surprised. This only reinforces the fact that Donald Tsang is not impartial, he is a COMMUNIST AND A MAINLAND FREAK, just like all the other DAB politicians, loving and supporting China to an unreasonable extreme.
"Plead guilty (and) spare our children, wife urges Chen"
Implications/Analysis/Comments/Remarks: With a pro-China administration now in place in Taiwan, Chen will almost certainly be convicted and have to serve a long prison sentence (he would probably have been found guilty of corruption in international courts also), but Communists are infamous for rubbing salt into people's wounds. Chen has already been disgraced. Let this case go, let history judge Chen shui-bian and move forward. This case is now like the court battle for tycoon Nina Wang's estate and fortune and Michael Jackson's ranch and kids. In other words, this is turning into a political circus. Oh and Chen's son,Chen Chih-chung, has also been implicated in the scandal which has swallowed up his father, which means that, with a CHINA-FRIENDLY administration now in place in Taiwan, Chen Chih-chung has also destroyed himself.
"Minister defends awarding of stars and medals to officials"
According to Chief Secretary Henry Tang, "In the past, many serving government officials have received the medal of stars".
Implications/Analysis/Comments/Remarks: This is a joke. Just because government officials have received these awards "in the past" cannot justify why the awards were given to the people they were given to THIS TIME.
"We have a strict system WHICH HAS PROVEN EFFECTIVE, ENSURING THAT ONLY THOSE WHO MERIT THEM RECEIVE HONORS".
Implications/Analysis/Comments/Remarks: STEPHEN LAM certainly doesn't deserve any award with the way he stands against democracy.
"I thank THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE (?) for this medal and giving me the opportunity TO SERVE CITIZENS".
Implications/Analysis/Comments/Remarks: Tang only serves Donald Tsang who in turn serves CHINA. Donald Tsang is a blind jingoist/patriot.
"I also thank my whole team of colleagues. My work can only be successful if I have the support of THE WHOLE TEAM".
Implications/Analysis/Comments/Remarks: Donald Tsang uses brute force/aggression to force people to support himself, his policies, his cabinet and especially CHINA while simply ignoring critical opinions.
According to the Secretary for Constitutional and MAINLAND (there's that word again) Affairs Stephen Lam, "I have to thank my friends in the government(especially Donald Tsang & Beijing) for their support over the years. This is the result of that effort".
Implications/Analysis/Comments/Remarks: This reinforces Stephen Lam's reputation as "the government tape recorder" because this is precisely what he is. Perhaps it was his idea to add the word "Mainland" on to "Secretary for Constitutional Affairs" because he's a blind supporter of mainland China (a mainland China FREAK) just like Donald Tsang.
A protester reportedly shouted "The voice of the people were snubbed while Henry Tang received the Grand Bauhinia Medal. Even STEPHEN LAM WHO HAS BLOCKED DEMOCRACY received the Grand Bauhinia Star. WHAT SORT OF GOVERNMENT IS THIS?"
Implications/Analysis/Comments/Remarks: The key phrase is "who has blocked democracy". Lam has certainly not disappointed us in fulfilling the role of the "government tape recorder". The most incredible thing is that he and Donald Tsang are the first people who can be for China and against the wishes of Hong Kong citizens. This is like saying Obama is for the US and against Chicago, Illinois, which is CRAZY.
"Fired with pride, then FRIED in the Victoria Park heat"
Federation of Trade Unions legislator Cheng Yiu-tong started off: "Today's event reflects the views of most Hong Kong people that our economy will prosper, livelihoods will improve AND DIFFERENT SECTORS WILL WORK TOGETHER FOR HONG KONG'S DEVELOPMENT".
Implications/Analysis/Comments/Remarks: "...different sectiors working together"? Donald Tsang will never be reasonable with Democrats. He is a jingoist towards China.
According to Donald Tsang himself, speaking at a government reception, "This has been a challenging year for Hong Kong. While the financial tsunami has impacted heavily on economies around the globe, the threat of a new strain of influenza has also kept governments on high alert".
Implications/Analysis/Comments/Remarks: Donald Tsang does not understand the phrase"...around the world" and Health Secretary York Chow is doing all the work on swine flu while Tsang has only mentioned this twice since the vrus emerged in April.
"During this current set of challenges, we are confident (that) we will be able to revitalize our economy (by insisting that "..the mainland will always give strong backing to us" even though Bloomberg analysts have already said that China's economy is still slowing just like every other economy during this credit crunch), take good care of our people (by paying undersecretaries and political assistants who basically don't do anything important more than HK$200K per month while some in the private sector are only getting paid $3K per month) and fight against the flu pandemic with perseverance and, most importantly, WITH THE ALL-OUT SUPPORT OF OUR COUNTRY, I am sure (that) we will once again prove our resilience and mettle".
Implications/Analysis/Comments/Remarks: "...the all-out support of our country"; this sounds just like Donald Tsang. He has officially lost his mind in his blind patriotism. "all-out support" for THE MAINLAND, Mr. Chief Executive? Here we go again. So, the Cultural Revolution where hundreds of thousands people lost their lives FOR NO REASON was not a mistake in Tsang's eyes. Neither was the June 4 crackdown in Tiananmen Square where hundreds of thousands more people lost their lives in a bloody and brutal crackdown. Honestly, Donald Tsang is a disgrace to Hong Kong people and Legco should subpoena and impeach him and remove him from office. This will free him up to go to Beijing and kiss officials' arses there when he's next to them instead of having to fly there to kiss them like he's doing now. The thing we just don't understand, Mr. Chief Executive, how could you have worked with/for the British (who, by the way, long ago called for democratic reform) for so long when you hate them so much. This just doesn't make sense.
According to former Chief Secretary for Administration Anson Chan, "If the number of protesters was as few as claimed by the government, why (then) did so many people have to wait inside Victoria Park for so long? Why did the government force so many people to be stuck and then faint. We need to persevere because the fight for democracy for democracy is not easy".
Implications/Analysis/Comments/Remarks: Especially when our leader is a mainland China freak and a tyrant. Chan has come around and realized the fact that every society has to be democratic in the long run. Otherwise, it will be dysfunctional just like Hong Kong's political system is now with a handful of very powerful people or Thailand where no one has control of anything or Japanese Prime Minister Taro Aso whose popularity hit a ghastly 9% earlier in his tenure. Evidently, Donald Tsang still hasn't figured this out.
According to League of Social Democrats legislator Wong Yuk-man, "They (i.e. the July 1) are the fresh force of democracy, Donald Tsang take heed".
Implications/Analysis/Comments/Remarks: Throwing food at principle officials won't get the job done because the police are also ultra-loyal to Donald Tsang and whoever throws food during a forum will be brutally dealt with..What we need here in Hong Kong in order to fulfill the people's wishes for reform and democracy is more people in Legco to step up (e.g. Democrats Martin Lee & Albert Ho as well as moderate DAB politicians like Starry Lee). Anson Chan cannot do this all by herself. If Chan is the only one speaking out, this will cause Donald Tsang to become even more hardline (perhaps like Mahmoud Ahmedinejad or Kim Jong-il) BECAUSE CHAN IS A FORMER OFFICIAL IN THE TSANG ADMINISTRATION (Chief Secretary) WHO HAS NOW TURNED HER BACK ON HIM.
