Scrapbooking Memories
Scrapbooking Memories
Memories, at the corner of this book. Misty water-colored memories of the way we were...
Scrapbooks are far from a hobby. And they are not just scattered pictures. They can help you record and revisit personal accomplishment, establish a sense of family pride, and provide a doorway into retrospection.
Our basis for a hobby selection is usually to do what we "like" or are "good at". Like-ability and scrap-booking go hand in hand. Even a toddler can be good at it.
Start with your children at an early age. Hand made Mother's Day cards, short stories and art - a portfolio of love and creation. Or start with your teens - awards, ribbons, notes form friends, magazine cut outs of mentors ans idols. Why not start for yourself - notes form a lover, tickets from a Broadway musical, and locks of your kids hair.
Creativity is the glue, you provide the book and decorative scraps. Made with love and care, the book is priceless and valued to all family members and friends. Priceless, because it is made from the heart and valuable because it is made with the hands. Joy stems from sharing and reliving the times we cherish. Scrapbooks are the treasure chests with the map included.
Stop by a hobby or scrapbook store. Browse the aisles of meaningful life events. Weddings, Birthdays, Holidays. If you want you can make up your own events - such as buying that adorable pet. Limitless possibilities and opportunities unravel when we delve into our own creative resources. Scrap-booking is an art, a gift, and a fun way to express yourself.
You can even start your own club with community members or best friends. Brainstorm, build, create, share and plan. Make your ideas and dreams into tangible objects. In fact a scrapbook dedicated to your dreams is something I highly recommend.
There is so much in life to treasure. Gold is not always at the end of the rainbow, so draw your own rainbow and produce your own gold nuggets! Scrapbooks are far more than a hobby to pass the time. They are a window through time which has passed. We cannot always leave our mark in the world by obtaining great status or fame. But we can leave a legacy, a hallmark and a gift to our loved ones. We can share the memories of the way we were.
