Search for God
posted August 18, 2007 - 10:24pmThere is a wide variety of religions out there. Atheists claim that there is no God. Agnostics claim that it is impossible for people to know if God exists or not. Islam, Judiasm, and Christianity are all monotheistic religions originating from the Middle Eastern region. Hinduism is a polytheistic one coming out of india; it is debatable how many hundreds or thousands of gods there are in this religion. Wica, pagan, withcraft, voodoo, hoodoo, obia are some of the alternative religions out there.
The search for God takes many people a lifetime to complete. There seems to be a difference between religions and a relationship with God. Religion seems to be tied in with culture and tradition. A relationship is a direct approach with trying to communicate and please God directly.
I am a new Christian. It took me many years to get into it. I never took it seriously since many Christians don’t seem to follow the rules of their own religion. This is true of all of the other religions I have tried and studied. It needlessly turns potential beleivers away. Being a representative of any religion seems to carry great responsibility. All religions have representatives who need to clean up there acts. Staying true to ones values is commendable.
It seems that if individuals sincerely try to have a direct and personal relationship with God that they will easily hold on to the values of their religion. If individuals try to please God in private then they will have no problem setting a good example in public. For example, aiming to please Jesus Christ will at the least make some one an outstanding citizen and decent human being. At most a place in heaven for eternity will be won.
