Karl Malden who devoted over seven decades of his life to the world of acting died in his home located in the Brentwood section of Los Angeles on July 1, 2009 at the age of 97. His repertoire was as wide as his long career. He is most remembered for his roles in A Streetcar Named Desire (1951) and On the Waterfront (1954). In both the movies he had Elia Kazan co - starring. Malden is surivived by Mona Greenberg, his wife of seventy years whom he married in December 18, 1938.
