Seeing Ghosts/Spirits

I feel kind of strange writing about this as I never have discussed w/anyone. When I was a child my sisters and I have had several experiences that were unexplained in our home. We never saw anything it was more like chairs moving accross the floor, or coming home and all of our kitchen cupboards would be open, footsteps. I have had no experiences like this as a adult however I have a young daughter that since she was a toddler it appeared as though she was playing with someone we obviously could not see. She would actually like answer questions as though someone was speaking to her. Very strange. Well now my daughter is 12 and she tells me that she can see spirits or mostly shadows and though she was so afraid at first she is more calm about it now. Like I was in my bedroom one night and she was standing there talking to me and she said "mommy don't freak out, but someone just walked by right behind you" and she can describe them to me. If I show any doubt in what she is telling me she gets very sensitive and starts crying that I don't believe her and think she is crazy. She sees alot of orbs and on several occasions in the night she will freak out that her closet opened on its own. She also said that there is this one spirit that is trying to take her ability to see spirits so that other spirits will come after her and she will become vulnerable and not know when they are around. My daughter is a bright, sweet, extremely funny girl but this seems to be a little disturbing to me. Anyone have any thoughts or perhaps same sort of things happening w/their children?

Thanks Anne- I appreciate your advice. Its funny cause my daughter does say that there is one particular shadow that is trying to take her ability away and then make her vulnerable for all the shadows to come and get her. She is for the most part a normal child. She does not act like she is being tormented or anything. She acts like she is used to it and talks about it like its just part of her daily life. The thing is that she is so used to it she talks about it freely and I am so afraid that she will start being ridiculed and stuff so I tell her to keep it on the down low and then she thinks I don't believe her. Its pretty tough.

telling them to go away
Hi Bren Ryan,
I know what it is to have to deal with that sort of crap and especially as a child. I had a lot of stuff happen to me as a child. This is probably why I have bothered to sign up so that I can answer your question because it can be quite a traumatic experience for a child to go through this sort of thing and not know what to do :)
What I learnt as an adult is that you simply have to tell it to go away. They are just shadows. They have no real power. They are just very scary. I used to get so angry and scared that I would actually say "In the name of God I command you to go." When I did that they would just go away. I wouldn't see them for quite a while. Then if they came back then I would tell them to go away again.
You need to teach your child to tell them to go away. She has the power not them. Tell her that they are just shadows. They cannot take away her ability. If they are talking to her then they are lying to her about taking away her ability. She just needs to tell them to go away.
