"SeLfish America"

We live so luxuriously
As we live without a care
Not thinking about others in this world
As they live in such despair

We buy all our fancy clothes
And things we don’t need
Our fancy cars and cellular clothes
While there are so many mouths we can feed

We think we are struggling if we live with no cable
While others are struggling to survive
With no food to eat
They struggle just to stay alive

While we eat our gourmet dinners
Children all over scream and cry
With nothing in their stomachs
One by one we let them die

With all the food that we eat
Five courses considered as one meal
We don’t realize how much we can give
And how many people we can heal

With such an abundance of food we don’t need
So much of it we can give
To the many starving families
Whose battle is just to live

While our mothers buy their children their toys
Other mothers watch their children fade away
As they disinagrate to skin and bones
Yet we say everything is okay

If we would only learn to give
And learn to share
We could help so many
If we would only learn to care
