Senate Committee Will Review Don't Ask Don't Tell
posted July 27, 2009 - 2:18pmThe policy of "Don't Ask Don't Tell" will be given a Senate Review. The review is supported by former Secretary of Defense Colin Powell, also, a retired U.S. Army general. It has been 16 years since President Bill Clinton enacted the policy.
Mr. Powell makes note that attitudes in America have changed over the past 16 years and it is time to review the policy. President Obama had promised to press for equal rights for gays and lesbians, but, so far, has failed to act.
A large number of current and former military personel support equal rights for gays and lesbians. Since the President has taken office 297 service people have been discharged for being gay or lesbian...
