Senator Barack Obama's "A More Perfect Union" Speech

Illinois senator and Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama gave an impassioned speech in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he invoked the words of the Founding Fathers to help stop the divisiveness affecting the Democratic and national election landscape. Addressing the issue of his former pastor, Reverend Dr. Jeremiah Wright, Senator Obama eloquently proceeded to speak about himself, his family, white Americans and black Americans and how the United States could transcend the racial issues that tend to hold us back as a society. As Jon Stewart put it on Comedy Central's "The Daily Show", for the first time an American politician talked to the American people "as adults." The full transcript of Senator Barack Obama's speech can be found on CNN.
