Senator John McCain's "Federal Gas Tax Holiday" An Irresponsible Grab For Votes?

Arizona Senator John McCain, the Republican presumptive nominee for president, offered up his economic plan for the masses on, of all days, April 15, national tax deadline day. In it, he suggests a federal gas tax "holiday" in which he suggests that the federal gas tax and diesel tax be eliminated from Memorial Day to Labor Day. This article explains why, although it sounds really good, the plan is a mere stopgap measure that would cause far more harm in the short and long run than its feel-good passage is worth...
