She did not Vote for Obama

One the best articles I've read about voting and life in general. Fantastic!

Abmox! 'More Recents'-Link DEMANDED by Comment-Commissioner!

I 'second' the DEMAND! Comments should have pages just like recent-`bytes, `blurbs and -tops get, ESPECIALLY since commentators are not (quote-unquote) PAID with anything but the links they include in their signatures (and the linked avatar). ---Uncle MythMan & we Xombies Explain Money, Love, God etc. Work w/ Us to Find Yours! @jdubhub--What about the Grey-to-Green Plus?

I think the '+'s are more like the 'bumping' you bespeak, as adding one brings that post nearer to that week's 'top-listings' (at the base of the right-sidebar, I think). Commenting on a post is more like 'featuring its link in a new post' or re-posting the post, as it directly adds the post to the front-page again. ---Uncle MythMan & we Xombies Explain Money, Love, God etc. Work w/ Us to Find Yours! @wHATUP--Imaginary Friends

They're not the most-ideal companions you could ask for, but--if you can't keep your Imaginary Friends 'entertained'--how do you expect to entertain I.R.L.-friends? ---Uncle MythMan & we Xombies Explain Money, Love, God etc. Work w/ Us to Find Yours! @IdLew.--If That's How You Look at Comments, You'll See That Way

Personally, I see comments as 'blank space/pages beneath the posts'; that Abmox decided to list them on most of the pages is Abmox's choice. In that way, I like to think of Xomba as a 'group website'; only Xomba-admin. and the original poster get the monetary proceeds of the audience-action--true--but they both then become the audience to the commenter. Maybe commenting on your own blog is like 'talking to yourself,' but that's only until someone else enters the conversation. Sometimes, posters use the comments for content that would 'waste bandwidth' if people aren't looking to watch it (videos, pictures, audios, interactive forms, etc.) For instance, I'll occasionally `blurb a link to a video and--in order to save loading-time (on the list of 'top entries' etc.) for people who aren't watching the video--I'll embed the video in the comments. ---Uncle MythMan & we Xombies Explain Money, Love, God etc. Work w/ Us to Find Yours! bumping

This article deserved a bump...am doing m bumping bit! My writings here My profile here

I would be in favor of a "show all" option for comments

I understand that not everyone visiting Xomba has broadband and can load pages quickly, which is why 10 comments at a time makes sense. Still, I wouldn't mind seeing an option for us to "see all" comments so we don't have to click to see more than just the first ten. JOIN XOMBA IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO ADD!

Easy Jdub

I don't think you can say "bumped" here on Xomba. Of course I am only using the word "bumped" in reference to you using the word "bumped" and is in no way a reflection on me. Plus I used quotes so that makes it allright!

Bumping

I'm not on too many other forums, but I think the practice should be frowned upon... only a limited number of comments can be shown on a page, and when someone comments on their own post it knocks off someone else's comment (presumably on a post that is not their own). Ideally, I'd like to see Xomba have a "more" link for the comments, like it does for recent bytes and blurbs, top rated posts, etc. The way it is now, any comments after the most recent 10 or so are impossible to find. Sometimes I make a comment on someone's post and would like to see follow-ups, but don't want that enough to subscribe to that post. Guess I'd put that feature on my wish-list of things I'd like to see on Xomba 3.0 (or whatever number we're up to).

No reason for sadness

"can have endless debates with myself about Evangline Lily or Meagan Fox (right now Ms. Lily is in the lead). So I should stop that? Sad, Sad day!" I *wish* I could have great debates with myself about Ms. Lily! I urge you to continue your hot-lady internal monologue, especially for those of us who can't!
